A Suburb In The Centre of Malta

Blata l-Bajda is a residential suburb of Ħamrun in Eastern part of Malta.

It is an area between Hamrun, Floriana, Marsa, Pieta and the Grand Harbour. It is a small residential area, with various business, offices and especially a very important arterial road network that connects many towns and villages on their way to the capital city. Due to this many changed occurred through time.

Blata L-Bajda 1800's

An early photo where the site as it is today is unrecognizable. On one side, there is a road going into Hamrun, and on the other side, it leads down to Marsa.

Blata L-Bajda Street Early 1900's

The electrical tram operated between 1905 and 1929. This was a line staring in Valletta, passing through Hamrun up to Birkirkara.

Blata L'Bajda Mid-1950's

The MUSEUM Headquarters was just built and the new road system was being upgraded to help improve the traffic flow.
