The Main Street Connecting Floriana To Valletta
St Anne’s Street is the main road in the centre of Floriana leading all the way to Valletta. Floriana started from behind Porte de Bombs further up to St. Anne’s Gate which was demolished to make way for further traffic flow.

St. Anne’s street was badly damaged during World War II and was subsequently rebuilt and widened as seen today.

St. Anne's Street 1860's
St. Anne's street has gone through some major changes in the past 160 years.
Monument 1870's
The Lion Fountain was initially constructed in 1728 by Grand Master António Manoel de Vilhena and later on during 1950's it was moved a few meters from it's original location.
St. Anne's Street 1890's
Many people used to meet around the Lion Fountain. In the past there was a second gate called St. Anne's Gate.
St. Anne's 1903
A shot captured during the visit of King Edward VII passing through St. Anne's street. During this period the St. Anne's Gate was demolished.

St. Anne's Street 1950's
After World War II, St. Anne's street was heavily damaged by the bombs and hence had to be re-constructed and widening of the street.
